Review: Cheat On Me If You Can (2020)

Huhu meter: ▮▯▯▯▯
Genre: Thriller, Romance, Comedy
Main Cast: Cho Yeo-Jeong, Ko Jun, Kim Young-Dae, Yeon Woo
SYNOPSIS
A best-selling crime novelist is married to a famous divorce lawyer. They have a notarized agreement stating that if the husband cheats, the wife will have authority over his body. Essentially, if he cheats, he dies. Their lives turn upside down when they become entangled with a murder case
THE GOOD
It's an engaging thriller but I love that there were a lot of funny scenes despite the gravity of the murder case and the seriousness of all the other issues tackled in this drama. I'm usually impatient with mystery shows but with COMIYC, I certainly did not mind that the case was resolved only in the last episode.
Actors: They were all fantastic but Cho Yeo-Jeong really stood out for me. Her role was complex as she had to appear murderous but also kind of naive. Ko Jun was funny and annoying. Kim Young-Dae can, as they usually say in Korean dramas, make your heart flutter. Yeon Woo, who had to kind of play 2 characters, showed great versatility.
OST: I loved SURAN's O.V.E.R and Llwyd's Whisper.
Key takeaway: If you cheat, you die.😆
THE MEH
The story arc of Yeon Woo's character felt incomplete. It had good potential but the resolution was rushed so it was a bit disappointing.
The ending left the audience hanging.😑
